Building Your Future Employability Project

An exciting new Employability and Training programme has been launched in Sally Gardens Community Centre. This programme is for any person over the age of 18 not in work and/or i economically inactive. i.e. not in work or receiving benefits. We can also support school leavers and people who work 16 hours a week or less. This programme is funded by European Social Fund, DfE,Urban Villages and Belfast City Council.

Programmes and support will be available to assist employment in all sectors but we have specific courses and programmes in sectors such as administration, construction, hospitality, beauty and health and social care.  Please contact roisin@sallygardens.org, ciara@sallygardens.org, brian@sallygardens.org or Tel 02890 627250.

 

 

PCSP Funds Sally Gardens Inclusion Project

Well done to our Poleglass group that attended a Community Inclusion Project at Sally Gardens funded through PCSP.  The group have been exploring the importance of active citizenship and the role young people play in creating a positive image in the Poleglass area.  The group intend holding a question and answer with the local PSNI team, a great opportunity to highlight issues from both sides!

Gary Cusack Young Volunteer of the Year

Well done to Gary Cusack, Young Volunteer of the Year selected at Lisburn City Council gala ceremony.  The Mayor, Councillor Brian Heading, said it was a fantastic evening “which acknowledged the overwhelming work undertaken by the voluntary sector in the Lisburn area”. Gary received the award for his dedication and commitment to young people attending Sally Gardens Community Centre.   A special thank you goes to all our volunteers.
