Well done to our Poleglass group that attended a Community Inclusion Project at Sally Gardens funded through PCSP. The group have been exploring the importance of active citizenship and the role young people play in creating a positive image in the Poleglass area. The group intend holding a question and answer with the local PSNI team, a great opportunity to highlight issues from both sides!

Peace 3 Funding Secured
PoleglassCommunityAssociation@SallyGardens has secured funding to deliver a youth employability programme. An innovative youth employability programme in the Lisburn Castlereagh area. The project is supported by the PEACE III programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body and delivered by the Lisburn-Castlereagh PEACE III Partnership.
Gary Cusack Young Volunteer of the Year
Well done to Gary Cusack, Young Volunteer of the Year selected at Lisburn City Council gala ceremony. The Mayor, Councillor Brian Heading, said it was a fantastic evening “which acknowledged the overwhelming work undertaken by the voluntary sector in the Lisburn area”. Gary received the award for his dedication and commitment to young people attending Sally Gardens Community Centre. A special thank you goes to all our volunteers.

Sally Gardens Play Park now open
The long awaited Sally Gardens Play Park was officially opened on the 25th June 2012.
Special guests at the official launch included Jennifer McCann MLA – Junior Minister OFDFM, Alderman William Leathem – Mayor of Lisburn and Councillor Thomas Beckett – Chairman of the Leisure Services Committee.
The large turnout also included representatives of Sally Gardens Community Centre, Colin Neighbourhood Partnership, the Alpha Programme and Groundwork Northern Ireland.
A combination of funding from Lisburn City Council, Colin Neighbourhood Partnership and Groundwork NI has provided an essential facility for the Colin area.
